On the WaveBL platform, Business Units communicate using Business Unit Cards (BUCs) to establish digital agreements for exchanging electronic Bills of Lading (eBLs). To issue an eBL, Carriers/Issuers need the BUCs of both the Shipper and Consignee on the Bill of Lading (BL).

For the first eBL shipment, coordinate with one of your business partners and use Send Invitation to
invite them to use WaveBL and exchange cards.
(If you received an Invitation from your business
partner, use Accept Invitation).
Once BUC is exchanged an eBL can be issued, and a request to issue an eBL should be added to the
Shipping Instructions.
* For Inter-company shipments, the Shipper and Consignee are both your internal branches. You
need to make sure the carrier has both BUCs.
