Shippers and Freight Forwarders can now easily receive or transfer straight bills of lading as eBLs with a simple request on the Shipping Instructions

Consignees can authorize surrender by email, regardless of if they are onboarded to the WaveBL platform.

 

 

How to send eBL to a non-onboarded Consignee

  1. Click on the Inbox folder under Envelopes on the left sidebar and select the eBL you want to send to the Consignee. Hover the eBL number to view additional details, such as possession status, eBL type, last signature added, and your role on the eBL. To copy the eBL number click on the icon.

  2. Click on the eBL to open and verify its details. The full document will appear on the right side. Click the Fullscreen button on the top right to expand the document view. You can click the Download button to download a copy.
  3. View the eBL details on the left, such as 'Issuance Info' and Signatures.
    Note: On hovering over the consignee’s details, an info box indicates ‘Not WaveBL party’, showing this Consignee is not onboarded on the WaveBL platform.

  4. Click ‘Choose an Action’ and select ‘Send to Consignee’.  A new envelope will open on the right.
    Note: Since this Consignee was issued without identifying their digital identity, you must provide an email address to send the eBL.

  5. Enter the Consignee’s email address and click the ‘Invite to claim eBL’ button on the bottom right.
  6. When completed, a green confirmation message, ‘Invited to claim’ will be displayed at the bottom left of the screen, and the eBL status will be ‘Waiting to be claimed’.
