In this article, we will explain how you can use the “Switch to Paper” option. The 'Switch to Paper' request option is available only if the Carrier has enabled it. Once the ‘Switch to Paper’ for an eBL is requested, this BL cannot be issued as an eBL.
Note: The "Switch to Paper" feature is available only for eBLs issued by Hapag-Lloyd. If your eBL was issued by another carrier, this option will not be available.
To send eBL back to the issuer and request ‘Switch to Paper’, as the Consignee, follow these steps:
- Click on the Inbox folder under Envelopes on the left sidebar menu, and select the eBL you want to switch to paper. Hover the eBL number to view additional details, such as possession status, eBL type, last signature added, and your role on the eBL. To copy the eBL number click on the
icon.
- Click on the eBL to open and verify its details. The full document will appear on the right side.
Click the Fullscreen button on the top right to expand the document view, then click 'Choose an Action' and select ‘Switch to Paper’.
- Select the recipient details in the new envelope opened on the right, and click Send.
- When completed, a green confirmation message, ‘The envelope was sent successfully’ will be displayed at the bottom left of the screen.
